How it all started...
In October of 2022, a group of people at Vertical Life Church (VLC) in Cypress, TX, were moved by God to plant a church in Magnolia, TX. With the blessing of VLC as the sending church, the small group of people were commissioned in April of 2023 to start Hill City Church.
They began meeting in the student center of Magnolia Bible Church on Sunday evenings, in preparation for their future Launch. This small group of people doubled in size during 2023 and received permission from Nichols Sawmill Elementary to hold Sunday morning worship services beginning January 28th at 10AM.

Understanding Our Mission...
Jesus commanded his disciples to make disciples in His name (Matthew 28:18-20). So our mission is to glorify God by making disciples. We believe this starts by being visibly present and serving in the community God has placed us.
This is what our name represents. In Matthew 5:14, Jesus tells his disciples, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” This will be fulfilled as we invest ourselves in doing good works in the city of Magnolia. We will be a city, a people, that are visibly present in the community, causing others to glorify God as seen in Matthew 5:16.

Where we are headed...
God is building His Church. We are grateful to have a front row seat to witness Him doing it here in Magnolia. Our big audacious goal is to see every person in Magnolia hear the Word of the Lord, to see the city of Magnolia saturated with the good news of Jesus. We know that won’t happen on our own, but it will take a collaborative effort from all gospel-centered churches and organizations in Magnolia and we look forward to cultivating those gospel-advancing partnerships.
At such a young age in the life of our church, we don’t presume to fully know all that God has in store for Hill City Church or for those whom God will bring to join us. But we know this, our aim will always be to make disciples who make disciples, as we see the lost saved and the saved matured and multiplied to the glory of God.
