Through Christ, we are empowered to love others as he loved us, instead of only expressing self-love. But this counter-cultural way of living takes perseverance through hard times, unity in conflicting times and love at all times. It is not always easy, and God never intended for us to do it alone. As followers of Christ, we are called to strive for the faith of the gospel side by side. In the context of community, we can pursue Christ-likeness together.
